Donald P. Ford, Jr., devotes the majority of his time to insurance defense,
medical malpractice insurance coverage, and personal injury litigation.
Mr. Ford is active in all courts in upstate New York and is admitted in all state
courts, the United States District Court for the Northern and Western Districts of
New York and the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit.
Mr. Ford is a member of the Albany County Bar Association, the New York
State Bar Association and the Federation of Insurance Counsel. He actively works
as a member of the Insurance, Negligence and Compensation Law Section of the
New York State Bar Association, serving as Upstate CLE Program Chairperson.
As such, Mr. Ford has chaired and lectured at annual programs on Recent
Developments in Personal Injury Litigation, Recent Developments on Personal
Injury Law and Automobile Insurance Law and Practice. In addition, Mr. Ford
has authored a chapter on Underinsured Coverage to an insurance primer to be
published by the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Ford has also lectured
extensively throughout the State of New York about underinsured coverage. He has
published on the subject of civil rights violations under 42 USC § 1983.
Mr. Ford has also received the highest possible Peer Review Rating of "AV" in the
Martindale-Hubbell Directory for Attorneys.
Mr. Ford has practiced law with Thuillez, Ford, Gold, Butler & Young and its
predecessor firms for over thirty years. He represents various insurers and national
corporations in serious personal injury matters, including claims involving negligence,
products liability, medical malpractice, premises liability and civil rights claims.
