Dale M. Thuillez is a member of the firm’s litigation department and provides services
in insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, commercial litigation and personal
injury litigation. He has successfully tried cases in all State and Federal Courts in
upstate New York. He headed the Firm’s involvement in the litigation by the State
of New York against the tobacco industry. As local counsel, he also handled a class
action lawsuit in a complex life insurance policyholder action. Additionally, he has
represented plaintiffs in obtaining substantial recoveries in personal injury claims.
Mr. Thuillez is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of New York, United States
District Court for the Northern, Western and Southern Districts of New York, United
States Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
He serves as a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar
Association, Albany County Bar Association, International Association of Defense
Counsel, Defense Research Institute, The American Board of Trial Advocates, and
as Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the New York State Bar Foundation.
He also served as Chairman of the New York State Third Department Judicial Screening
Committee and as a member of the New York State Judicial Screening Committee. He
is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Albany Law School and a member of The
Foundation Board of Tech-Valley High.
In recognition of Mr. Thuillez’s expertise, he was elected Chair of the Trial Lawyers
Section of the New York State Bar Association, President of the Defense Research
Institute of Northeastern New York and is listed in “Best Lawyers of America”. He
served as a delegate to the House of Delegates of the New York State Bar Association.
Mr. Thuillez held the position of Adjunct Professor at Albany Law School (1980-2001)
teaching trial advocacy. He has lectured extensively across the State of New York and
on behalf of the New York State Bar Association, insurance industry and private
organizations on subjects relating to personal injury litigation, products liability litigation,
automobile accident cases, evaluations and negotiations of tort cases, and jury selection
techniques. He is the author of “Parental Non-supervision, The Tort That Never Was”.
