Karen Butler recently represented Benedictine Hospital in a three week trial before Judge Kavanaugh in Kingston, NY wherein plaintiff alleged he was injured when an anesthesiologist, in inserting a central line, failed to remove 22 inches of guidewire which lodged in the plaintiff's heart. At the end of plaintiff's proof Judge Kavanaugh granted the Hospital's motion for a directed verdict. The case subsequently went to the jury with a defense verdict for the defendant doctors including the anesthesiologist and four radiologists.
